Italian photographer Silvano Magnone creates his images using the old wet plate collodion photographic process from the mid-19th century.

The slowness and extreme precision of the gesture, the subtle mix between technical mastery and chance, the acceptance of imperfection, reinforce and give a sanctity to the intimacy of portrait and still life and to the thickness of the suspended time.

His collodions, with their old-fashioned frames, appear as profound, timeless dialogues between nature and man, feminine and masculine, ephemeral and eternal, like deep and contemplative rites of passage.
